Welcome to Newtonhill Primary School

Newtonhill Primary School serves the coastal villages of Newtonhill and Muchalls and the surrounding rural areas of Cammachmore, Cookney and Bridge of Muchalls. It also currently serves the growing village of Chapelton. This session we have 380 children across the nursery and school, with 13 primary classes from P1-P7. Our nursery runs from 8am to 6pm and is open all year round.

At Newtonhill we aim to be a school of excellence where high expectations are fundamental in all that we do. Our School Values of “Self-Belief, Honesty, Integrity, Nurture, Empathy – SHINE” and our ethos of care and positive relationships, with children’s rights at our foundations, make everyone feel safe and valued.  We are a Silver Rights Respecting School working towards Gold. Our varied curriculum will provide all pupils with a range of opportunities and experiences so that they become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors.

We want the children to learn in a vibrant and creative environment where all children are challenged and experience the excitement of learning. Diversity will be celebrated and we will be fully inclusive.

Partnerships between the school and all stakeholders will be a strength so that everyone feels involved in the life of the school.
